This dazzling and original musical offers a veritable and smorgasbord of delights, sights and sounds. Imperial China, the Qing Dynasty: follow Chu, a naive but loveable pig of the Royal Animal Menagerie, as he pursues his life’s love, the mysterious Princess Jade. Amidst the Revolution, will he overcome the obstacles of an evil Dowager Empress and her cleaver-wielding Cook, a scheming journalist and his seductress Cat to make sure love conquers all? ‘...a bittersweet, fantastical, funny and soulful show, at once an affectionate homage to the musicals of the past, and an inspiring glimpse of what the musicals of the future, in an ideal world, might be.'
